Siroboon Sirolimus Tablets contain Sirolimus as the active compound. It is an immunosuppressant medicine that helps control the activity of your body’s immune system. It is used to prevent kidney transplant rejection. You should take this medicine under medical supervision.
Clinical Uses
Siroboon Sirolimus Tablets are primarily prescribed to prevent kidney transplant rejection by reducing your immune system’s response to the transplanted organ.
This medicine is also used to treat lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), a rare lung disease mainly affecting women of childbearing age that causes abnormal cell growth and breathing difficulties.
Dosage Strengths
Siroboon Sirolimus Tablets are available in 1 mg and 2 mg strengths. Consult your doctor to determine the appropriate dosage for your condition.
How It Works
Sirolimus works in your body by blocking a protein called mTOR which plays an important role in cell growth and multiplication. It reduces the activation and growth of immune cells called T-lymphocytes thereby helping prevent your immune system from attacking a transplanted kidney. It also slows the abnormal growth of cells in people with lymphangioleiomyomatosis.
