Mahaflox KT Eye Drops 5ml is a prescription eye medication containing two active ingredients: Moxifloxacin (0.5% w/v) and Ketorolac Tromethamine (0.4% w/v). Moxifloxacin helps treat bacterial eye infections while Ketorolac Tromethamine helps reduce pain and inflammation of your eyes.

Clinical Uses

Mahaflox KT Eye Drops are used to treat bacterial eye infections, such as conjunctivitis (pink eye) and other external eye infections. They help relieve symptoms such as pain, redness, swelling, itching, burning, and irritation. These eye drops may also be prescribed to reduce eye pain and inflammation following eye surgeries, such as cataract surgery.

How It Works

Mahaflox KT Eye Drops work through the combined action of two active ingredients. Moxifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that blocks enzymes needed for bacterial DNA replication thereby preventing bacteria from growing and multiplying.

Ketorolac Tromethamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces the production of prostaglandins which contribute to pain, redness, and inflammation. These ingredients work together to help control bacterial infections and relieve eye inflammation and discomfort.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Mahaflox KT eye drops are mild and temporary which include-

  • Water eyes
  • Burning or stinging
  • Blurry vision
  • Redness
  • Itching
  • Headache
  • Dizziness

Contact your doctor promptly if you experience severe or persistent symptoms, intense eye pain, an allergic reaction, vision changes, or increased sensitivity to light.

  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had asthma, bleeding problems, dry eyes, diabetes, stomach ulcers, joint disorders, or any ongoing viral or fungal infection affecting your eyes or ears.

Drug Interactions

  • Steroid Eye Drops (such as Prednisolone, Dexamethasone): Using these medicines together may slow corneal healing and increase the risk of eye-related complications.

Note: This is not a complete list of all possible drug interactions. Inform your doctor about all eye drops, medicines, or supplements you are currently using before starting Mahaflox KT Eye Drops.
