Gatilox Eye Drop is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial eye infections, particularly bacterial conjunctivitis (also known as pink eye). It contains Gatifloxacin as its active ingredient, which belongs to a group of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones.
Clinical Uses
Gatilox Eye Drop is used for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis. It is also used after certain ocular surgeries to prevent bacterial contamination.
How It Works
Gatilox Eye Drop contains Gatifloxacin that works by stopping the growth of bacteria that cause eye infections. It blocks two bacterial enzymes called DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which help bacteria to grow and multiply. By blocking these enzymes, Gatilox prevents bacteria from multiplying and eventually kills them. This helps clear the bacterial eye infection and relieve symptoms like redness, irritation, swelling, and discharge.
