Dropin Tablet

Dropin Tablet is an oral contraceptive pill containing a combination of two active compounds, Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol. It is used to prevent pregnancy and may help regulate menstrual cycles and manage symptoms associated with menstruation.

Clinical Uses

Dropin Tablet is used for the following purposes-

• Contraception or birth control
• Regulation of Menstrual cycle
• Relief from dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps) and premenstrual symptoms.
• Management of moderate acne in some women.

How It Works

Dropin Tablet contains two active ingredients: Drospirenone 3 mg and Ethinyl Estradiol 0.03 mg. Ethinyl Estradiol is a synthetic estrogen and Drospirenone is a progestin. They work by primarily inhibiting ovulation which means preventing the ovaries from releasing an egg. The medication also thickens cervical mucus which makes it more difficult for sperm to reach the egg, and alters the uterine lining to reduce the chances of implantation.

Additionally, these hormonal effects may help regulate menstrual cycles and reduce menstrual cramps and premenstrual symptoms.

Precautions & Warnings

• Dropin Tablet is not recommended for pregnant, planning to get pregnant, and breastfeeding women.
• Driving and operation of heavy machinery is not recommended.
• This contraceptive pill may be unsuitable for patients with kidney or liver disease and should be used only under medical supervision.
• Do not use this medicine if you are obese, smoke, over 35, on extended bed rest, or have a history of blood clots.
• Talk to your doctor if you experience unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, chest pain, shortness of breath, severe headache, or changes in vision.

Dropin Tablet should be avoided with the following medicines-

• Atazanavir
• Boceprevir
• Clarithromycin
• Dabrafenib
• Elafibranor
• Fedratinib
• Hemin
• Mifepristone
• Relacorilant
