Clinical Uses

Lumigan 0.03% Eye Drops are primarily used to reduce high pressure inside the eyes known as intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Lumigan eye drops help control eye pressure and reduce the risk of further optic nerve damage and loss of vision.

How It Works

Bimatoprost is a prostaglandin analogue that helps lower pressure inside your eyes. It works by increasing the drainage of aqueous humour (the fluid naturally present inside your eye) through two pathways: the trabecular meshwork and the uveoscleral pathway. This allows the excess fluid to drain more effectively thereby reducing intraocular pressure. Lowering eye pressure helps protect the optic nerve and reduces the risk of vision damage associated with glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

• Driving and operating heavy machinery should be avoided as the eye drop may cause temporary blurry vision.

• Inspect the bottle before each use. Do not use the eye drops if the solution appears cloudy, discoloured, or contains visible particles.
