Alzocin D 10mg/0.5mg Tablet

Alzocin D 10mg/0.5mg is an Antispasmodic that helps in the treatment of Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or enlarged prostate gland in men. This combination medicine contains Alfuzosin and Dutasteride that helps improve urine flow and urination difficulties.

Clinical Uses

Alzocin D 10mg/0.5mg tablet is used to treat Benign prostatic hyperplasia that causes symptoms of difficulties in urination, weak urine stream, and frequent urination. It also helps with incomplete emptying of bladder or complete blockage of urine stream.

How It Works

Alzocin D 10mg/0.5mg is a combination of Alfuzosin (10mg) and Dutasteride (0.5mg). Alfuzosin is an alpha-blocker medicine that works by relaxing the muscles around the prostate and bladder improving urine flow.

Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that reduces the hormone responsible for prostate growth helping in shrinking of the enlarged prostate gland.

Side Effects

Some of the side effects of Alzocin D 10mg/0.5mg Tablet include-

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Fatigue
• Common Cold
• Soar throat
• Drop in blood pressure upon standing up
• Inflammation of air passages in lungs
• Decreased libido
• Enlargement of breast or tenderness
• Erectile dysfunction
• Ejaculation disorder

Precautions & Warnings

• Alzocin D 10mg/0.5mg is not recommended for women and children.
• Inform your doctor if you have low blood pressure or kidney and liver disease.
• It is advisable to take the medicine consistently at the same time after the same meal for better results.
• Doctors advise to continue taking the medicine regularly as improvement of symptoms may take up to 4 weeks. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen after 4 weeks.
• Alzocin D 10mg/0.5mg may cause dizziness or weakness making it unsafe to drive or operate heavy machinery.
• This medicine can interact with alcohol potentially causing a sudden and dangerous drop in your blood pressure.
• Inform your doctor that you are taking Alzocin D 10mg/0.5mg if you are planning for any eye surgery.
• Do not donate blood while taking Alzocin D 10mg/0.5mg or for at least six months after your last dose.

Alzocin D 10mg/0.5mg tablets should be avoided with the following medications-

• Other Alpha-blocker medicines
• Sildenafil
• Tadalafil
• Blood pressure-lowering medicines
• Ketoconazole
• Itraconazole
• Ritonavir
• Idelalisib
• Clarithromycin
