Active Ingredient Latanoprost
Brand Latoprost
Country of origin India
Form Eye drop

Latoprost Eye Drop is a prescription medication containing Latanoprost 0.005% as the active ingredient. Latanoprost belongs to a class of medicines called prostaglandin analogues. It is used to reduce increased pressure inside the eyes in people with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Lowering eye pressure helps protect the optic nerve from damage and reduces the risk of vision loss.

Clinical Uses

Latoprost Eye Drops are used to reduce high intraocular pressure (IOP) in people with open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

How It Works

Latanoprost lowers eye pressure by increasing the outflow of aqueous humour, the fluid naturally produced inside your eye. It mainly works through the uveoscleral pathway by allowing excess fluid to drain more easily. This helps reduce intraocular pressure and protect the optic nerve from glaucoma related damage.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Latanoprost include-

  • Watery eyes
  • Blurred vision
  • Eye itchiness
  • Redness of eyes
  • Burning or stinging of eyes
  • Puffy eyes

Contact your doctor if any side effects persist, worsen, or become severe. Seek medical attention if you experience severe reactions or unusual changes in your vision.
