Clinical Uses

Mifegest Tablet is primarily used for the medical termination of an early pregnancy. It is taken alone or in combination with other medicines for maximum benefit. Strictly follow the healthcare provider’s instructions regarding its use, as medical assessment and follow-up are important to confirm completion and identify complications.

Dose Options

Mifegest Tablet Kit is available in the strengths 100 MCG and 200 MCG. The right dose is decided by the doctor as suitable for the condition.

How It Works

Mifegest Combikit contains mifepristone and misoprostol, which work together to medically terminate an early pregnancy. Mifepristone works by blocking the action of progesterone, which is an essential hormone for maintaining pregnancy. By this action, the lining of the uterus begins to break down, which helps prevent pregnancy.

Misoprostol is usually taken 24 to 48 hours after mifepristone. It softens and dilates the cervix and stimulates contractions of the uterus. This action helps expel the pregnancy tissue from the uterus through the vagina.

Together, they help terminate early pregnancy and help the uterus to empty its contents.
